The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup on Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Today was their victory parade through the streets of Chicago. This city has become crazy with hockey since the franchise has been revitalized, and the intense passion the Hawks fans have shown throughout the playoffs culminated today as the team paraded their prized Stanley Cup down Washington St. and Michigan Ave. I had a good perch to view the festivities from, high above in a parking garage near Washington and Wells streets. This was my view down on the action as a CTA Brown Line L train passed over the buses carrying the team. Crazy sports fans, elevated trains, huge parties in the streets, it doesn’t get any more “Chicago” than this.
